Heijmans has agreed to sell its € 70 million per year industrial services business to SPIE. Heijmans Industrieservice (HIS) employs 335 staff and is active in the design, new development, renovation, modification and maintenance of mechanical installations in the chemical, petrochemical, process and steel industries.

According to Heijmans, SPIE is active in all these sectors in the Netherlands with a much larger presence. The French contractor's Dutch subsidiary had sales of € 220 million last year and employs 1500 people.

The larger SPIE Group is a specialist electrical, mechanical, heating and communications contractor, with 27000 employees and revenues of more than € 3,5 billion.

The deal is subject to approval by the Netherlands Competition Authority, and is expected to close this autumn.
