The first model in Komatsu's latest generation demolition specification tracked excavators gets its launch at Intermat.

Like all OEMs, Komatsu has been working to produce new machines that meet the latest engine emission legislation - Tier IV in North America and its Stage 3B European equivalent.

Intermat sees the debut of the first of four demolition specific variants of its response in the shape of the 36 tonne PC360NLC/LCD-10.

The -10 is the designation that Komatsu has applied to all its Tier IV/Stage 3B compliant machines. This machine will be joined by the 26.4 tonne PC240LC-10, 31 tonne PC290NLC/LCD-10 and 48 tonne PC490LCD-10.

The demolition variants come with heavy duty undercovers and side guards, reinforced side links and an optional cylinder guard. They feature Komatsu's ROPS certified cab with a new air suspended seat and front and front guards to protect from falling debris.

Operators can select from up to six working modes - Power Mode, Economy Mode, Heavy Lift Mode, Breaker Mode, Attachment Power Mode and the new Attachment Economy Mode. The latter allows attachments to be used without compromising machine efficiency.

A straight boom instead of a mono boom is available as an option on the PC240, PC290 and PC360 to provide additional reach.
