Making its first European appearance at JCB’s Waste Day earlier this week, the Hydradig Wastemaster has been launched into the growing compact wheeled machine sector of the waste and recycling market.

David Banks, JCB sales manager for waste and recycling said: “With safety of paramount importance, the Wastemaster features a cab guard Falling Object Protection System (FOPS).

“This fully protects operators while they enjoy the benefits afforded by the cab’s exceptional all round visibility.

“From ground level, the Hydradig’s all-round visibility also allows ground staff to see the operator at all times. In addition its white noise reversing alarm and red and white chevrons improves site safety over conventional excavators.”

The JCB Hydradig Wastemaster has a sturdy all-wheel drive, four-wheel steer chassis, based on JCB’s proven Loadall telescopic handler concept. This delivers three-mode steering for maximum manoeuvrability and stability when travelling at speed.

Power comes from JCB’s proven Tier 4 Final diesel engines, delivering 81kW (108hp) and industry-leading levels of low rpm torque. The engine achieves the Tier 4 Final emission levels without an expensive Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), reducing cost and complexity for the customer.

With the engine, driveline, hydraulic and diesel tanks mounted on the lower chassis, the upper structure has a reduced tailswing of just 120 mm (4 in), allowing the machine to work on the most confined waste and recycling centre.

The lower centre of gravity also makes the JCB Hydradig Wastemaster incredibly stable when working with selecting and materials handling grabs at full reach.

The JCB Hydradig Wastemaster will be supplied as standard with a five-year LiveLink telematics contract, delivering improved uptime and allowing fleet managers to maximise utilisation of the machine.
