Kiloutou launches brand for ‘green’ equipment

Kiloutou in France is promoting its electric, hybrid and by-energy products under the new IMPAKT brand. The branding will be used for 3,500 products in four ‘families’ covering earthmoving, access, landscaping and tools.

The products will have a dedicated mini-site on the company’s website and staff have been trained to advise and help customers throughout France.

The new branding for Kiloutou’s low-emission equipment.

Kiloutou said it was quick to understand that CO2 emissions from its indirect activities – such as the use of its equipment on customer sites - was an essential part of any strategy to reduce emissions.

Indirect emissions represent almost 94% of the group’s total CO2 emissions, and 63% aof that is equipment used on site. Kiloutou said the new range would help local authorities and private contractors working on low emission, eco-projects.

The four product ranges will be:

  • Earthmoving and roadbuilding equipment including site dumpers, rammers and plates and excavators, including 1.7 tonne and 2.5 tonne excavators as well as compact loaders.
  • Aerial platforms, such as 17 m and 20 m hybrid articulated boom lifts.
  • Gardening and landscaping products such as brush cutters, hedge trimmers, blowers or electric chainsaws.
  • Tools, comprising power cutters, air compressors, concrete mixers and floor saws.

Pierre Knoché, Managing Director of Kiloutou France, said; “Faced with the acceleration of our customers’ expectations and the demands of their own customers in terms of reducing carbon impact, the pace at which we are deploying our range of low emission equipment allows us to contribute to the ecological transformation of the sector.

“Our investments in 2021 for alternative equipment are up 50% and is once again concrete proof of our desire to support our customers in the success of their projects.”

As part of the launch, Kiloutou is conducting an information campaign, including a guide to alternative equipment.

“More than a simple presentation of products, its aim is to remove the obstacles to their use and fight received ideas about their performance and functions”, said Kiloutou.

“Our customers can thus easily identify low-emission equipment and compare their performance to that of thermal equipment…this guide allows professionals to better understand environmental issues and to familiarise themselves with the world of alternative equipment.”

For large projects, Kiloutou said it would offer customers a support service in using new equipment; “A program to collect customer feedback on the IMPAKT range has been set up to allow Kiloutou suppliers to be proactive in improving their equipment and service offers. This program will be systematized in the coming months.”

The dedicated IMPAKT website can be found here.

Kiloutou said the latest initiative was part of a long-established strategy. In 2011 it introduced carbon footprint audits for customers; its CSR approach was launched in 2014; and it has renewed its HGV fleet with alternative energy vehicles.
