Komatsu Europe appoints new CEO

Construction equipment manufacturer Komatsu Europe International has announced the appointment of its new CEO.

Tadashi Maeda was appointed as the company’s new Managing Director and CEO earlier this year, succeeding Masatoshi Morishita who left the role after five years in order take up a senior executive office role with Komatsu in Japan. 

A law graduate of Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, Tadashi first joined Komatsu Ltd in 1994. 

He initially worked in sales for the manufacturer’s Japan distributor, Komatsu Iwate, before joining the Komatsu’s head office team as a logistics manager in 2000.

During his long career at Komatsu, which this is celebrating its 100th anniversary, said that Tadashi’s long career had also seen him hold a number of other leadership positions within the company.

In 2006 he became the marketing manager for the Asian region of its Overseas Marketing Asia/Oceania Group, and in 2009 Maeda was promoted to the role of President Director of Komatsu Marketing & Support for Indonesia in Jakarta.

In 2016 he returned to Komatsu’s headquarters in Japan to take up the position of President of the Asian Business CE Marketing Division, and prior to his new role as CEO, Tadashi served as the President of Komatsu’s Americas & Europe Business CE Marketing Division.
