Latvian rental software company launches with free download

Latvian software company ERP Pro has launched a new rental software package called PreferRent and is offering a free download of the system for small users.

The software was developed two years ago for StoRent, the rental company in the Baltic States founded by former Ramirent employees, and is now being given its general release.

Andris Pavlovs, the StoRent director who took a lead in developing the software with ERP Pro, told IRN; "We have been using the software for two years and it works very well. The software is being offered to other companies only after we have checked it."

Since its launch two weeks ago over 200 versions of the free software have been downloaded, with as many as 30 product registrations so far. Rental companies in the US, Australia, New Zealand and India are among those to have downloaded the software.

The free version is only available in English, but the software is also available in the Baltic languages and a Russian version is currently being developed.

Mr Pavlovs said ERP Pro will be targeting small and mid-sized rental companies internationally, with rental payment plans available. The free version is ideal for companies who want to check the software before investing, and ERP Pro is hoping that many companies who start with the free version will upgrade to paid-for versions.

In addition to the free version - which is targeted at companies requiring less than 10 users - PreferRent is available in other paid-for versions, including PreferRent4Office and PreferRent4E-commerce. A full-feature version, PreferRent4Enterprise, incorporates e-commerce, business intelligence and integration with ERP/accounting systems.

Riga-based ERP Pro, which employs 20 people, is a certified distributor for Microsoft Dynamics AX, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and also a distributor of the QlikView business intelligence tools.
