Liebherr presents new LR 1250 at Bauma 2013

Manufacturer Liebherr has launched the new LR 1250 crawler crane to the public for the very first time at Bauma 2013.

The LR 1250 crawler crane is based on the LR 1200 and has a 250 tonne lifting capacity. It has a reinforced main boom, a 95 metre luffing jib and a 32 m fixed jib. In heavy boom configuration the maximum length is 86 m and in light boom configuration the maximum length is 117 m. The new crawler has increased flexibility due to various boom and jib combinations, the company said.

Features of the new crawler include carbon fibre pendant straps (CFRP), which are maintenance free and easy to handle, the company added. The LR 1250 has two crane winches, each offering a 12 tonne line pull. There is also the option of a 12 tonne free-fall winch.

The crane is driven by a 270 kW / 362 hp 6-cylinder diesel engine and complies with EU Stage IIIB / EPA Tier 4 Interim emission regulations.

The crane, including boom and counterweight, can be easily transported, a Liebherr spokesperson said, because the track width can be retracted to 5.8 m.

Additional features include the Litronic control system, which uses CAN bus technology. The load moment limitation automatically calculates the lifting capacities during operation and guarantees optimum use of the machine, the company said. The LR 1250 can also have LiDAT, a data transmission and positioning system, which provides information on the operation of the machine and fuel consumption.
