Link-Belt 100|RT aids Cooper Steel build

Cooper Steel of Shelbyville, TN recently purchased a new 100|RT from Link-Belt Cranes distributor Atlantic & Southern for a new e-commerce logistics facility in Lexington, KY.

The exterior of the building is tilt-up precast concrete panels, which are tied into an internal framework of steel erected by Cooper Steel. The 150,000 square-foot framework of steel trusses and piers was erected with a new Link-Belt 100-ton 100|RT rough terrain crane. The heaviest steel sections were 26,000-pound trusses that form an exterior awning for parked vehicles waiting to be loaded.

“We built all of the inside steelwork first, then moved to the outside awning,” said Tracy Weems, superintendent, Cooper Steel. “We’ve already had this crane on a couple projects similar to this one and it moves in and out very easily.”
