Link-Belt US tele-crawler launch

Link-Belt introduced its 75 US Ton (70 tonne) TCC-750 telescopic crawler crane to the US market during the company's CraneFest '09 customer event at its headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky.

The model was launched in Europe during the UK-based SED exhibition in May 2009. It has already seen strong interest in the US, Link-Belt said, despite the economic climate, with 10 units being ordered by All Erection & Crane Rental Co.

A new option on the crane is the Pengo hydraulic earth auger. The auger comes in two sizes: the RT-15 with a 293 cc motor, 20 985.3 Nm of torque, and the RT-20 with 195 cc and 30 725.5 Nm torque. A work platform is also an optional extra.

The TCC-750 has Link-Belt's four-section, full-power formed boom with greaseless Teflon wear pads. The boom is 11.5 - 35.05 m long, with a maximum tip height of 38.88 m. Optional equipment includes a 6.09 - 17.7 m, two-piece, on-board lattice fly with offsets of 2, 15, 30, and 45 degrees. The maximum boom and jib length is 36.88 m, plus 17.67 m, giving 54.55 m.

The 'A' boom mode offers increased capacity at short radii, while the standard 'B' mode extends all four sections equally for extended reach, said the company. A hammerhead boom nose allows the operator to work at high boom angles.

It has sealed lower and hydraulically retractable side frames for easy, fast transport, said the company. At under 45.4 tonnes, the TCC-750 is the largest telescopic crawler that transports with its tracks attached. It moves in either one or two loads, depending on local restrictions.

The retracted gauge is 2.56 m. On the job two additional working modes at 3.63 m and, fully extended, at 4.27 m provide added versatility, added the company. "With 914 mm triple grouser track pads and a retracted boom, this rig can easily navigate terrain that a lattice crawler or rough terrain would never dare," said a spokesman.
