UK rental software company MCS has launched an upgraded version of its MCS-web customer ‘extranet' offering additional functions including a ‘hire now' button and the ability to link to live fleet tracking data.

The hire now button allows a customer to generate a rental contract, with a confirmation e-mail automatically sent e-mail to both the customer and the rental company. The satellite tracker link offers a pop-up link on the activity screen of the site making it quick and easy for rental companies and their customers to locate equipment.

Another new feature allows a rental customer to see any additional attachments that a rental company may have made to a contract, such as a scanned proof of delivery document. Also new is the functionality for a rental company to use the extranet site to supply to a variety of business reports, such as weekly, monthly and annual spend.

"Our latest version of MCS-web is the most advanced Customer Web Portal software available for hire companies today," said Mark Nolan, product development director at MCS, "It offers a comprehensive online experience that improves efficiency, enhances customer service, strengthens customer relationships and ultimately increases revenue for the hire company. This makes it critical for hire companies in these tough times where customer loyalty is vital in maintaining profitability."

The web portal provides secure, anytime access to a website providing access to a customer's rental and contract information, including invoice history, quotations and product information, as well as health and safety information.
