Ainscough Crane Hire in the UK has purchased 18 new Liebherr LTM 1090-4.1 all terrain cranes to be delivered over the next three months.

The company invested about UK£10 million (US$14.9 million) in the four-axle cranes and some used cranes were part exchanged. The 90 tonne capacity cranes boast improved telescopic booms and folding fly jib capacities, compared to previous models, said the company.

"We have always been clear that outstanding customer service and a high quality, flexible fleet is the key to our continued growth and success," said Neil Partridge, Ainscough Crane Hire managing director.

Richard Everist, Liebherr GB managing director, added, "Crane sales have not been immune from the effects of the global economic downturn. It is encouraging to see that despite tough times Ainscough Crane Hire is showing a serious commitment to investment in their fleet."
