Manitowoc appoints new tower crane dealer

Stirnimann has been appointed the newest Potain dealer for Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland, adding to its Switzerland and Austria territories.

Stirnimann will distribute the Potain top-slewing range and the self-erecting range

Over the coming months, the dealer will ramp up its operations to become fully operational by January 2022.

Stirnimann owns a fleet of more than 400 rental cranes and has been the exclusive dealer for Potain cranes in Switzerland since 1986.

Stirnimann will distribute the Potain top slewing range and the self erecting range, as well as promoting all other Potain service activities, including rental, spare parts and aftersales.

“The extensive history of our relationship with Stirnimann has seen many successes and we have developed an excellent partnership,” said Christophe Simoncelli, senior vice president for tower cranes Europe at Manitowoc.

“We are convinced that this is a very good opportunity for both companies. The combination of Stirnimann’s experience and advanced Potain products positions us well to further develop our presence in the Danish market.”

Stirnimann board member Fritz Oschwald said, “We will invest all our energy and know-how to build sustainable and collaborative relationships with our valued Danish customers.”

Founded in 1915, Stirnimann supplies building equipment and heavy machinery for the construction market and operates across Switzerland and Austria. The company offers sales and service for both new and used Potain cranes and runs a large rental fleet of self erecting and top slewing tower cranes.
