Manitowoc cranes build German houses

In Germany, crane rental specialist BKL is using two new Potain MDT 189 cranes, one new MDT 219, one MDT 248 and one MDT 178 to support the construction of the new housing development, In den Sieben Stücken.

The Potain towers have the CCS crane control system

Over the course of the project in North-East Hannover, 160 residential units will be built. Residents will benefit from modern apartments spread over a total of nine buildings surrounded by green space.

“The Potain MDT tower crane range helps our team and our customers to get the job done effectively. Potain cranes are user-friendly during assembly,” said Jörg Hegestweiler, BKL managing director.

Crane control

Fitted with CCS crane control system, the company said crane assembly is straightforward and the system reduces the time to erect, transport and maintain the cranes, which also keeps operating costs low.

The cranes will help to build 160 residential units in Hannover

Construction on the residential development began at the beginning of 2021 and completion is scheduled for mid-2023.

BKL’s crane fleet comprises more than 500 construction cranes, of which over 300 are top slewing cranes and more than 200 are self erecting. BKL is active in Germany and elsewhere in mainland Europe.
