Crane rental major Maxim Crane Works Holdings in the US has named its new chairman.

Jack McGovern replaces Bill Redmond, who was chairman from February 2005 and resigned from the board due to other business commitments, according to PR Newswire. McGovern became a director of Maxim Crane Works in January 2005 and has been chairman of the audit committee.

McGovern is also on the boards of GenTek Inc, Neenah Paper Inc and Payless Shoes Source Inc. He has been a partner of Aurora Capital LLC since 1999 and from 1981 to 1999 he held positions at Georgia-Pacific Corporation, most recently executive vice president, finance and chief financial officer.

McGovern will continue as a member of the Maxim Crane Works' audit Committee, while colleague Todd A Robinson has assumed the role of chairman. “We greatly appreciate Bill Redmond's leadership and service as chairman of Maxim Crane Works during a period of steady growth and improvement in operating results. I look forward to working with management and the board on the next phase of Maxim Crane's strategic development,” commented McGovern.
