Metso adds breaker booms for stationary crushers
26 February 2014
Metso Mining and Construction is expanding its portfolio with new boom-mounted hydraulic breakers for primary stationary crushing stations. The products are already available on Metso’s mobile crushers, where they are used to break over-sized boulders as they are fed into the crusher.
"Today, safety at work is undeniably the number one issue within the construction and mining industries. The remotely controlled hammer-boom combination provides, without a doubt, the safest solution for clearing clogged crusher cavities," said Ilkka Somero, Product Manager for Metso rock breaker solutions.
He added, "We have now introduced a range of breaker boom and hammer combinations and can offer our customers a complete turnkey solution. Besides the requested primary crusher, Metso can now offer a comprehensive breaker attachment - a boom with assembly framework, hammer, related hydraulic power pack and remote radio controls."
The new MH-series hammers and MB-series booms include five boom-hammer combinations for jaw crushers and one for primary gyratory crushers. The hammer weights range from 400 kg to 2200 kg, with power ratings from 18 kW to 45 kW.
