Italian truck mounted platform and spider lift manufacturer Multitel Pagliero has appointed Canadian rental company SOS Location as its new distributor.

SOS Location, which is based just outside Montreal in Longueuil, is a specialist access equipment provider that offers sales, rental, transportation and maintenance services across Quebec.

Roberto Marangoni, International Sales Manager of Multitel Pagliero, said, “The partnership with SOS Location allows us to have an already established presence in the Canadian market, and the fact that the company works with other Italian companies has reinforced our choice”.

SOS Location is a distributor for the Italian manufacturers Palazzani, Platform Basket and AlmaCrawler. Alongside these, it also stocks access equipment made by Genie, Dinolift, Skyjack and JLG.

Multitel’s distribution deal with the Canadian firm was agreed after SOS Locations’ President and CEO, Philip Lavigne, visited the company’s factory in Manta in Northern Italy.

Having previously sent two trucks mounted with Multitel’s MTE 270 and MT 162 aerial platforms to the factory, the visit was arranged so that both parties could check the final products and arrange their transport.

The successful outcome of this led to the company leaders to “define the terms” of their proposed distribution contract.

While details of the product ranges included in the deal have not been disclosed, Philip Lavigne, President and CEO of SOS Location, said, “Our team is proud to pursue our vision of growth with the Multitel Pagliero team and products. We sense in every conversation their dedication and vision for the future of the access industry.

“The rental market and users in all industries will be delighted with the weight capacity of the basket, models versatility, product quality and light weight units that will now be available on our North American vehicles”.

This latest announcement marks another strategic expansion move by the equipment manufacturer.

Just two months Multitel announced that it had signed an agreement with Liftgruppen for the distribution of its full range of truck mounted platforms in Sweden and Norway.

Prior to that, at the beginning of 2021, Multitel Pagliero also named Inreka Plošiny Servis as its distributor in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
