Phill Maurer has joined UK scaffolding and industrial services company Pyeroy Group as group business support director, a new position. The company said the appointment buttresses planned growth in the industrial process, power generation, nuclear and renewable energy sectors.

Mr Mauer joined Pyeroy from scaffolding and services company Cape PLC, where he was Far East and Australia divisional director. Prior to that he was UK operations director.

Pyeroy said Mr Mauer will be responsible for business development and for health and safety and quality management systems, as well as support operational activities. Mr Mauer said, "The chance to join a company with great growth potential and to help make Pyeroy a major player in the burgeoning industrial services market was compelling."

The Pyeroy Group, based in Gateshead and operating in the UK and Ireland, has approximately 1000 employees. It rents scaffolding and other equipment and provides surface preparation and application of marine/industrial protective coatings, insulation, civil engineering/building works and environmental management services.
