Pierre Anjolras new chairman of Vinci Construction

It has been announced that Pierre Anjolras, a member of Vinci’s Executive Committee, was appointed Chairman of Vinci Construction on 12 January 2021.

The appointment was made by Xavier Huillard, Vinci’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Pierre Anjolras will continue to fulfil all his other duties within the Vinci Group, including as Eurovia’s Chairman.

Anjolras joined Vinci in 1999 as the regional director of Sogea Sud-Ouest. In 2004, he became the chief operating officer of Cofiroute before being appointed as CEO of ASF in 2007.

From May 2010 he was the deputy executive officer of Eurovia in charge of International and Public-Private Partnerships before becoming Chairman and CEO of Eurovia with effect from 1 March 2014.

In a report issued in June last year Vinci said its Contracting division was now operating at approximately 90% of expected levels but social distancing measures were impacting on worksite productivity.

Vinci said 2020 revenue and profits will be, “very significantly impacted by the sharp drop in business levels during lockdown, especially in its airport and motorway concessions.”

In the last ICON top 200, a ranking of the world’s largest contractors by sales by International Construction magazine, Vinci was ranked number five with sales of US$54 billion.
