Potains top 300 in Xiamen

More than 300 Potain tower cranes are working in Xiamen, China, on infrastructure development projects.
Work for the tower cranes includes building high-rise towers that mix residential, commercial and leisure use. Most of these buildings are more than 200 metres tall, a company spokesperson said.
The most common Potain in the city is the 6 tonne capacity MC 120. Projects for these include the construction of the 265 m AVIC Zijin Building and the 230 m Strait Exchange Center. Some of the cranes at this site are owned by rental house Xiamen Zhong Huan Jian.
Challenges for the cranes on site include strong winds and a corrosive high-salt environment due to the city’s coastal location. To overcome this the cranes are designed with high strength steel and are coated with a paint that protects against rust and corrosion, the manufacturer said.
Chen Weifeng, general manager of Xiamen Yuda, said, “Potain cranes are the most profitable option for tower crane owners in China.
