Based in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, the firm provides powered access rental across the country’s Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Humberside regions.

Mell Hill, Vertikal UK deputy depot manager, said, “We’re very pleased with them. As soon as the 15.70 arrived, it went out to a new customer, a tree surgeon, who was glad to see we could provide him with Hinowas.

“These are the first spider platforms we’ve taken and we’re sure they will do well for us. On top of that, the technical back-up service provided by APS is second to none, so we’re well supported.”

The machines were supplied by UK-based dealer Access Platform Sales (APS). According to the distributor, Vertikal chose the LL 15.70 and the LL 26.14 models for their versatility.

With a weight of just 1950kg, the LightLift 15.70 can be transported in a trailer attached to a van or a 4x4 car. While the model features a maximum working height of 15.4m and an outreach of 6.6m, the company’s new Hinowa LL 26.14 can reach a working height of 25.7m with an outreach of 13.75m.

Hill said, “Because the platforms are bi-energy, our customers can use them for internal and external work. They’re going to very popular for building maintenance and construction. And because of their capabilities, we get good hire rates.”

The hybrid platforms, which are fitted with a 230kg basket, include a low emission diesel engine and can be powered by electric from the main grid. Measuring 690mm wide, both models can fit through a standard UK doorway.
