SDMO has added the CIR 20 Dry container to its Rental Power range of products. Designed for its larger gensets, the container provides improved transportability, better noise reduction and greater ease of use.

The new, lower cube container is 2.59 m high, making it transportable on most roads on standard tailers. Other improvements include positioning all controls and connections on the same side of the unit and their physical isolation from the generator and engine. These features eliminate breaking the 80 dB (at 1 m) sound level when accessing the controls while the genset is running.

The control is a modified version, called Kerys Location, of SDMO's industrial controller. Its configuration selector automatically presents set-up menus that guide operators to set up the sets more easily, said SDMO, and to synchronise multiple units.

SDMO has a new product, the 10 kVA R10 C Power box, specifically for powering site huts. It measures 1150 mm x 804 mm x 1155 mm and fits against a partition without blocking access to maintenance points. The Mitsubishi-powered model can run at full output for 17 hours on a tank of fuel, and its noise level is 70 db (at 1 m, 75% of maximum power).

Elsewhere in the rental range, the 12.8 kW RL16 lighting mast now offers an optional hot-galvanised chassis, European connectors, and guarding for hot parts. The 1430 kg, Mitsubishi-powered model supplies 8.8 kW of auxillary power, operates at a sound level of 87 LWA, and runs for 15 hours autonomously. Also, rental companies can remove the genset from its trailer for separate rental.
