Sennebogen will introduce a new 70 tonne telescopic crawler crane at Bauma 2010, IC can reveal.

According to the Germany-based manufacturer, the Sennebogen 673 is the strongest telescopic crane in its capacity range. It has a 42 m boom and with its 9 to 16 m long folding jib it has a lifting height of 56 m and reach of 48 m.

The new single hydraulic cylinder telescopic boom system allows the desired length to be reached quickly and easily, explained the company. In addition, the fly jib allows for two-hook operation for safer load handling and alignment of components.

Designed for heavy duty applications and tough terrain, the 673 is also compact and flexible, added a company spokesman. "The swivelling crawler chassis with 800 mm wide flat shoes guarantees the best possible manoeuvrability in even the tightest of spaces. With over 5.3 m contact area width, the 673 R offers a unique level of stability."

The unit's width is under 3 m for transport. "Thanks to the uncomplicated ballast, with easy ballast loading from the ground, easy transport and quick operational readiness are guaranteed," said the spokesman.

The base machine weighs 44.9 tonnes without ballast and no additional assembly equipment is required.
