UK-based Shindaiwa Ltd will market the Japanese Shindaiwa welder generators throughout Europe.

Former Arc-Gen salesman Andy Munford and two business partners have established Shindaiwa Ltd to market Japanese-built welder generators throughout Europe.

Japan's Shindaiwa already sells its outdoor power and landscaping equipment in Europe but the formation of Wolverhampton-based Shindaiwa Ltd means the introduction in Europe of three of its welder generators.

Mr Munford's partners in the new company are Keith Lucas, who created Shindaiwa Australia eight years ago, and Mark Stansfield. The three men have 40 years of combined experience in the construction equipment sector.

Shindaiwa Ltd will be competing directly with Arc-Gen, which sells Denyo welder generators in the UK and Ireland under the Arc-Gen brand.

The new company has already started marketing the products to customers in the UK and said it would start looking at opportunities in mainland Europe in 2011. It will be exhibiting at the Executive Hire Show at the Ricoh Centre in Coventry, UK, on 9 and 10 February, 2011.

The product range will cover three models with welding outputs of 165, 200 and 300 A. Shindaiwa claims they are the quietest, most reliable and powerful units on the market.

The ECO165UK and ECO300UK models both have an auto-idle system that automatically sets the optimum engine speed for the job without first running at maximum rpm, reducing fuel consumption, noise and engine wear.

The ‘top of the range' trailer-mounted ECO300UK unit has a noise level of 88 dB (LWA) and a 37 l fuel tank that can run the unit for three days use. It also has a 3-phase 415 V, 8 kVA supply for operating a wide variety of power equipment in addition to its standard, single phase 110 v CTE, 3 kVA output.
