Atlas Copco’s MB 1500 completes the company’s line-up of medium hydraulic breakers

Atlas Copco’s MB 1500 completes the company’s line-up of medium hydraulic breakers

By simplifying the design as much as possible, rejecting every non-essential element, Atlas Copco believes that it has developed in the MB 1500 a medium class hydraulic breaker that will require practically no maintenance. It operates without a high-pressure accumulator, substantially reducing the number of moving components but still features the company’s StartSelect that allows its start-up and shutdown behaviour to be tailored to the application. AutoControl ensures maximum percussive power under all applications.

The MB 1500 completes the MB product line, sitting between the MB 1200 and the MB1700, and is designed for use on carriers weighing from 17 to 29 tonnes. It has a service weight of 1,500 kg (3,300 lb) and a maximum blow rate of 640 bpm. It requires an oil flow of between 120 and 155 l/min (32-41 gall/min) and has a normal operating pressure of between 160-180 bar.

According to product line manager Torsten Treger: “Power, reliability and a low maintenance expenditure were the benchmarks for the designers who developed the MB 1500. A product has evolved which is distinguished by its versatile application, its slim design and its extremely high efficiency.”
