Hirschmann sensors do away with cables.

New wireless sensors from Germany's Hirschmann Products have been designed to fit construction equipment with safety-enhancing technology. The system's iScout PRS85 multi-sensor graphic display, which supports multiple languages, enables users to configure up to seven sensors with individual alarm settings.

A spokesperson said, "Safety means having all the relevant information in a transparent way. Therefore, the display shows the actual force, angle, wind speed and other values in % of their maximum settings. If any single limit is exceeded, an alarm will be triggered."

All sensors can be operated using standard alkaline or lithium batteries, providing a service life of more than 12 months for typical applications.

The new family of wireless sensors uses the 2.4 GHz frequency band, which is freely available globally.
