Xiangjiang River Bridge contract awarded

China's CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. has been awarded the contract to construct the Xiangjiang River Bridge.

The 31.5 m wide bridge will be a basket arch structure with three 210 m-long spans.

Located at the Fuyuan Road, Changsha City, the total length of the project is 3.6 km.

In a statement CCCC said the CNY 880 million (US$ 130 million) bridge has a construction period of 760 days.

Construction of the steel arches is expected to be completed in 2011 with the bridge open to traffic by the end of 2012.
