UK-based rental company A-Plant said it had invested around £800,000 (€1 million) in a range of industrial forklift trucks from Knightsbridge Mechanical Handling to meet increased demand from the industrial sector.
A new product range for A-Plant, the company said the bulk of the forklift trucks would be available from the company’s Leicester location, which was a dedicated Industrial Forklift Service Centre.
It added that various other divisions within A-Plant had also taken several of the new forklifts, including Leada Acrow which specialises in Formwork, Falsework and Groundwork; Eve Trakway which offers a range of temporary access products; and lifting equipment company FLG Services.
A-Plant said the order comprised 1.5 tonne, 3 tonne, 3.5 tonne, 4 tonne and 6 tonne industrial forklift trucks, both LPG powered and diesel machines.
A-Plant regional sales director Jason McNally said, “Industrial Forklifts are completely new to our hire fleet and we’ve seen an immediate demand from new and existing customers working in distribution, manufacturing and warehousing.
“They are a fantastic addition to our Service Centre in Leicester which has many customers in the industrial sector, and they offer an extra dimension to our product offering in several other areas of our business.
"They fully complement our extensive range of site forklifts and telehandlers.”
The company added that it saw the industrial sector as a growing market, supported by the opening of a dedicated Industrial Service Centre on the Wilton International Complex in Teesside, after being awarded a three-year contract by industrial energy, utilities and services provider Sembcorp Utilities UK.
