Aecon president steps down

Scott Balfour, president of Canadian construction company Aecon, is to step down at the end of January to pursue other opportunities.

The company said its chairman and CEO John Beck would assume Mr Balfour's responsibilities.

Mr Beck said, "During Mr Balfour's time as president, Aecon's revenues grew from US$ 1.1 billion to over US$ 2.5 billion, while EBITDA grew almost tenfold. The board of directors and I know that he leaves behind a very strong management team, and an organisation in excellent shape."
