Hampshire Plant & Access, based in the UK, has been acquired by AFI and will operate as an independent company within the AFI group of companies.

Following the acquisition, David Meadham, who founded HPA, will remain in day-to-day charge of the business, which will retain its name and branding.

Operating from depots in Winchester, Southampton and Salisbury, HPA has an annual turnover approaching UK£4 million. The company has a fleet of over 550 machines, together with an extensive range of powered access equipment, excavators, telescopic handlers, dumpers and other plant.

David Meadham said, “We have built up an enviable reputation over our many years in the business. By operating independently within the AFI group of companies we have been able to ensure the long-term continuity of the business.”

David McNicholas, AFI Chief Operating Officer, added, “This acquisition further highlights the strength of the AFI business to capitalise on opportunities as they arise. Hampshire Plant & Access is a strongly performing business and represents a natural extension of our existing business. We are delighted to be supporting David Meadham in the next stage of Hampshire Plant & Access’s development.”
