Aggreko has opened its fourth service centre in South Africa, in Cape Town.

Situated in the Montague Industrial Park in Milnerton, the new facility will provide temporary power and temperature control services to the local shipping and oil and gas industries as well as businesses operating in and around Cape Town's central business district.

Aggreko will also use the new centre to better serve its mining customers in the Northern Cape.

The opening of the Cape Town facility means that Aggreko now has a presence in all the major industrial and commercial centres in the country. The Cape Town service centre joins operations in Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth.

Aggreko has earmarked further growth in Africa and intends to invest in training a local workforce.

"South Africa is a key strategic market for Aggreko and forms the base of our South and East African business", said Martin Foster, Aggreko's head of local business, South and East Africa.

"The investments we have made in the country to date have allowed us to build a solid foundation for continual growth in the region".
