Here's an idea: transform your scaffold tower into a mobile work platform using only a cordless power tool. If it sounds farfetched, then you should have seen this product from Granite Industries on show at the Rental Show earlier this year. The US company has come up with an attachment that fits onto towers with platform heights of up to 7 ft (2.1 m) and allows a cordless drill to power a single castor wheel on the ground. Granite says the system operates on commonly available drills such as DeWalt 12 to 18 V and Bosch 14 to 24 V models, and will propel the tower up to 1500 ft (457 m) on a single charge. The attachment (excluding the power tool) costs around US$849.
