JLG Industries has introduced a new range of telehandlers with powershift transmissions. The new PS models, which upgrade the previous 3500 and 4000 series models, were described as an important step forward by Israel Celli, JLG's senior vice president of international market development; “The powershift transmission offers distinct performance advantages in certain applications, where features such as high tractive effort throughout a wide speed range are important. This is such an important benefit that JLG provides the powershift transmission as the standard build spec, not just an option.”Other improvements include the use of a new, more robust engine hood; a new electronic engine and hydraulics control system to improve control and make servicing easier; and a cab providing better visibility and access. The range – with the same models numbers but with the addition of the letters PS – includes all nine 3500 and 4000 models, from the 3508PS to the 4017PS.
