Since taking delivery of three of the six crawler cranes ordered by the company earlier this year, Ainscough reports that each model has been continously on hire since its arrival in the UK.

Ainscough bought the crawler cranes in April 2009. They included two 500 tonne capacity CC 2500-1s, two 600 tonne capacity CC 2800-1s and a 1,250 tonne capacity CC 6800 from Terex Demag, and a 600 tonne capacity LR 1600-2 lattice boom crawler from Liebherr. Delivery will continue into 2010.

"Our belief that there would be consistent call for heavy crawler cranes has been proved correct; demand from the energy and infrastructure sectors is most promising," said Neil Partridge, managing director of Ainscough Crane Hire. "Given the significant investment that heavy crawler cranes require, it's not surpirsing that there is a shortage of these models both here in the UK and overseas."
