Engineers at Italian manufacturer Airo have been improving the performance and style of the XS range of small electric scissors. Enhancements are said to make them faster and easier to use.

Hoffmann, a German rental company and one of Airo's dealers has tested the new machines and its customers have expressed great satisfaction. The machines are designed to be suitable for small or large maintenance jobs inside facilities and supermarkets where space is at a premium.

The three models of this series, the XS 7 E, XS 8 E and XS 9 E have working heights of 6.7m, 8.03m and 9.38m respectively. They are battery powered and feature a 1m manual platform extension,

The new XS series can accommodate a full load capacity across the fixed and extended platform and full height can also be reached with the extended platform deployed

Airo said the scissors have, "Incredible handling and great versatility, thanks to the very compact overall dimensions and 81deg steering guided by a proportional joystick.
