ALE gets JGP

20 March 2008

Abnormal Load Engineering (ALE) in the UK has acquired specialist offshore construction industry company John Gibson Projects (JGP).

Based in Middlesbrough, UK, JGP offers engineering, equipment and services to the sector in central America and Asia. Its main areas of expertise are loadout operations, strand jack systems, skidding, heavy lifting, hydraulic jacking, high capacity weighing, barge ballasting and float-over installations.

Mark Harries, managing director of ALE, said the purchase would complement its lifting, engineering and project management services to the international fabrication and construction industries.

“We are delighted with this acquisition, which brings in-house an important service capability, as ALE seeks to provide a broader offering to our clients.

“JGP's management team has achieved a significant presence in its market and we look forward to working with them to continue this growth,” Harries commented.
