Up-N-Atom created its Retriever truck bed to directly deal with safety issues that delivery personnel face. According to its President Joe Simons, these features and safety tips allow for easier and safer transportation methods:

•High traction epoxy deck coating.

•A very low loading angle, typically 22% grade.

•The optional traverse-mounted winch allows the winch to be positioned laterally providing a straight pull when loading machines side by side or if a machine has to be hooked off-center.

•The Retriever's low deck height makes loading and chaining easier and also lowers the center of gravity during transport.
