Alimak Hek starts Chinese production

Petter Arvidson (pictured), Alimak Hek president and CEO, told Access International that the initial target market would be high-rise projects over 60 m height. Chinese-produced hoists may well be sold in other Asia markets, and there is no current plan to make Hek mast climbers in China. The managing director of the Chinese subsidiary is Ulfs Strömback, an ex-ABB executive who has worked for Alimak Hek for several years.

The Chinese hoist market is massive, said Mr Arvidson, with thousands sold each year, many very similar to Alimak machines sold in the country over a decade ago. “The original is back in town”, said Mr Arvidson.
