Four Alimak Hek hoists are being employed on the landmark Emaar Square development in Istanbul, Turkey, as part of a 22-month rental agreement.

Main contractor Sera Yapi Construction has hired the hoists from local distributor Atilla Dural Mumessillik Insaat Turizm Tic Ltd. to work in conjunction with 14 tower cranes on the mixed-use development, which is one of the largest private sector projects in Turkey.

The four Alimak hoists are all Scando 450 units, designed for materials and personnel, and can lift a maximum load of two tonnes to a height of 150 m.

The new development will include seven high-rise towers, a five-star hotel, residential and business units, a shopping mall, an amusement park, an ice rink, a 2400-seat cinema complex, and a six-level underground carpark. It is scheduled for completion by 2017.
