AMI launches web portal

06 July 2016

Equipment tracking specialist AMI Group has launched a new web portal to allow its customers to better locate and manage their fleets.

AMI Nexis web-based software portal is used in conjunction with the company’s tracking devices. AMI said the new site boasted a catalogue of asset icon types so that customers with large fleets could quickly locate and distinguish between different types of assets, such as excavators, rollers, service vans and cars.

Other features include a timeline to allow users to see a quick snapshot of each asset’s activity over the last 24 hours and an hours usage widget to enable users to identify the utilisation of plant equipment or other assets.

The web portal can also be used to ensure legal compliance or to assist with environmental, health or safety requirements, according to the company.

For example, speed reports highlight any violations and the severity of the violation and service reminders highlight any pieces of plant or vehicles that are due for a service, MOT or insurance renewal.

Peter Stockton, operations director at AMI Group, said, “We’ve consulted with our customers extensively and we’ve introduced a series of new features to the AMI Nexis web portal which they told us would make a real difference to their business.

“Many of our customers have large national fleets of plant equipment, so the introduction of asset icon types makes it easier for customers to quickly identify particular assets. The new features also highlight vehicles or plant approaching servicing time to avoid deploying them to jobs that would take them over their service scheduling.”

AMI Group’s tracking devices are covertly installed on machinery such as excavators, generators and compressors to provide anti-theft protection.
