Ammann launches a new range of 13 lightweight tandem rollers in the 1.5-4.5 tonne class.

Ammann has a new line of 13 lightweight tandem rollers in the 1.5 to 4.5 tonne class and with working widths of between 820 mm and 1380 mm. The ARX 12 - 45 rollers use three different frame designs and offer the same widths and weights as their predecessors, but with a bigger driver's station and lower noise - down by 1.5 dbA. Ammann is not yet sure which units it will have in Paris, but whatever they are, they will be pre series-production models.

Also new in the tandem roller segment is the AV 120 X, a heavy asphalt roller with a working width of 1880 mm and weight of 11050 kg. This 12 tonne class machine fits into the existing AV range, filling a gap between the 10 tonne and 13 tonne models. The AV 120X is available with a cab or open and is powered by a Cummins Stage IIIB compliant engine.

In the drum roller product line, Ammann has added its Compaction Expert system (ACE Pro) to its ASC 110 and ASC 150 single drum rollers. The company says this means that the 15 tonne model now provides the equivalent compaction performance of a standard 20 t roller.

A completely updated version of the AP 240 pneumatic tyred roller will also be shown. This machine is a hydrostatic model, giving automatic speed control and gentle stop/start characteristics. As well as the use of the hydrostatic drive, the AP 240 H features a new frame, new cab and new Stage IIIB Cummins engine.

Plants

An "all rounder" is how Ammann describes its new UniBatch asphalt mixing plant. The UniBatch has a capacity range from 80 to 350 t/hr and a "future proof" design, capable of being modified to adapt to a wide range of sites. It also has a modular construction, with individual components transported in standard containers, making it easy to transport.

The company is adding a new noise reduction attachment for its asphalt plants. The Ammanpax is lowered into the batching plant's chimney - including non-Ammann plants - and will reduce noise by 10, 15 or 20 dB, depending on which model is used. Ideal for plants located next to residential areas, the Ammanpax can be quickly fitted with just four fixing bolts.

In the concrete batching plant sector, Ammann shows two of the innovations first seen at last year's ConExpo event: the EcoMix plant with production capacities up to 190 m3/hr and the EcoView fuel and power consumption monitoring system that is now available on its as1 plant control system.
