Aquajet has introduced what it says is the world’s smallest hydrodemolition robot for applications in confined areas, such as concrete sewer pipes in urban locations, small tunnels and inside buildings with restricted space. Just 2 m (6.6 ft) long, 0.8 m (2.6 ft) wide and 1 m (3.3 ft) tall and weighing 1,000 kg (2,200 lb), the new robot can pass through a standard door and operate inside a concrete pipe, on vertical, horizontal or overhead surfaces.
The Aqua Cutter 410 typically works at between 700-2,500 bar pressure and 60-180 litres/min, it will cope with most concrete removal tasks on floors, walls and overhead applications. It features a range of tools, including a rotor for surface preparation and work inside pipes, a single lance with a 1.5 m (4.9 ft) front scroud for surface removal and an hydraulically operated articulated arm with a reach up to 4 m (13.2 ft).
Features from the Aqua Cutter 710, such as EDS (Equal Distance System, ISC (Intelligent Sensing Control) and Smart Lance system have been updated and incorporated into the new 410 robot.
