Arborist diversifies with Hinowa

Oxfordshire, UK-based Trees & Gardens (Timber) has purchased a new Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 from APS.

The arborist, which offers tree felling, pruning and shaping, as well as garden and landscaping services, bought the Hinowa Lightlift 17.75 tracked boom initially to help with its tree work at height.

With a travel width of less than 0.8m and stowed height of less than 2m, the compact Lightlift can pass through narrow gateways. Coupled with its ‘up-and-over’ ability to provide access over conservatories or single storey extensions, the machine has enabled Trees & Gardens to offer new services such as residential property maintenance.

Founder Paul Williams said, “A tracked boom is a big investment for smaller companies like Trees & Gardens. However it has proved to be excellent value for money for tree work and is also allowing us to expand the business.”

The Hinowa lift has also enabled the company to expand into commercial building inspections. Trees & Gardens hires out the machine with an operator for assisting surveyors to conduct rooftop assessments of commercial properties.

The unit was bespoke made to fit with the firm’s arborist work, and has been provided with an ultra-compact one-man basket, in order to optimise positioning in amongst the tree branches.
