Arduini Luigi has ordered 21 Generac units

Italian rental company Arduini Luigi has ordered 21 lighting towers from Generac Mobile Products, the former TowerLight business, in a deal described as “pioneering” by the manufacturer.

The order, which brings Arduini’s lighting rental fleet up to nearly 80 sets, comprises 20 VT1-MH sets and one VT1-L. They are equipped with four 1000 W metal halide lamps and four 300 W energy saving LED lamps respectively.

The company said its purchase of the VT1-L will enable it to promote LED lamps as a cost-effective alternative to halogen or metal halide in the future.

Based in Fiorenzuola d'Arda, about 90km south of Milan, Arduini supplies power generation and associated equipment to the construction industry, agriculture, and the outside events market.

However, the rental market for lighting towers in Italy is still in its infancy, according to Generac regional sales manager Alberto Sacchi.

Mr Sacchi said: “The market is relatively underdeveloped compared to other European countries, especially the UK and the Netherlands.

“We applaud the foresight of Arduini to make an early investment in this type of equipment. They will soon be regarded as pioneers in lighting tower rental.”
