Manitowoc Cranes has appointed Buenos Aires-based construction dealer Covema SACIF as a new dealer for Argentina.

The partnership was made official during a signing ceremony at Covema’s facilities in Buenos Aires early in 2015 with Cristian Galaz, Manitowoc vice president of sales for South America (excluding Brazil) and Alejandro Gianakis, Covema SACIF president.

Covema is also a Manitowoc Crane Care partner for the region and supplies spare parts and services to Grove customers in Argentina. Grove rough terrains cranes and Potain tower cranes will be supplied from the Manitowoc factory in Passo Fundo in Brazil, the manufacturer said.

Cristian Galaz said, “We are very pleased to announce that Manitowoc has named Covema as its official distributor of Manitowoc crawler cranes and Grove mobile cranes in Argentina. This alliance will enhance our presence in Argentina with market-leading products that serve customers in the energy sector and many other industry sectors.”

Alejandro Gianakis said, “The long tradition and well-known reputation of Covema combined with Manitowoc’s array of industry-leading products and services is a sure-fire recipe for success in Argentina and beyond.”
