Bauer International has completed enabling works, piling and testing on the mixed use Nation Tower in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The enabling works consist of the design and construction of 805 linear metres of secant pile wall with tieback anchors, excavated up to -11.50 m below ground level, a dewatering system to maintain a dry platform to 1.5 m below the formation level and 1266 bored cast-in-situ piles of different diameters - 600, 900, 1200 and 1500 mm - to depths 15 to 40 m.

The Nation Towers development includes two towers: a 65-story hotel and a 52-story residential tower. A retail podium fronts the Abu Dhabi Corniche, which is curved architecturally and the whole site is surrounded by landscaping with water attractions.

A tunnel crossing under the Corniche road links the development with a Beach Club. The total built-up area of the project is approximately 295000 m2. The project, which is expected to cost approximately AED 2.4 billion (US$ 650 million) to construct, is expected to be completed by November 2011.

The project developer is International Capital Trading and the consultant KEO International and Hill International as project manager.
