More than 30,000 visitors and almost 650 exhibitors attended last month’s Bauma Conexpo (BC Expo) India exhibition, with 30 countries represented at the event.

The show, the fourth to take place on the sub-continent, occupied 150,000 sq m (1.6 million sq ft) and CEO Igor Palka believes the increased numbers show signs of a turnaround in the Indian construction sector.

“Positive developments in the Indian market were noticeable at Bauma Conexpo India 2016,” said Igor.

“Exhibitors made some very good contacts and in some cases reported having sold machines directly at the fair.

“For us as the organiser, the feedback is more than gratifying.”

BC Expo is a joint venture between German trade fair organiser Messe München and the United States-based Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
