Scottish crane rental company Bernard Hunter has added a fourth Spierings crane to its fleet.

The SK 1265-AT6 on six axle carrier is the first of its type in Scotland. Capacity is 10 tonnes and reach is 60 m.

Jim Rafferty, Bernard Hunter director, said, “We have a long experience with the Spierings cranes. In 2003 we took delivery of an SK 598-AT5. This crane brought a new revolution to Scotland, which gave a positive experience to a lot of our customers. At this stage we have a fleet of three Spierings cranes; a 4-axle, 6-axle and the 7- axle. We are delighted to add the 60 metre Spierings to our fleet, it’s the first in Scotland.”

Koos Spierings, Spierings Mobile Cranes sales manager, said, “Bernard Hunter is one of our partners in the UK. They are an ambassador for our cranes since 2003 and we are delighted that they have chosen to add the world’s most powerful mobile tower crane to their fleet. The SK 1265-AT6 has a proven design, with over 130 build units in 13 years. We are very proud of this crane, still all the cranes of this type are working and second hands are hardly for sale.”

Mark Rafferty, Bernard Hunter director (and Jim’s son), said, “It’s up to me to advertise this new crane to our customers. The fleet of Spierings cranes have already proven themselves to our customers, so I am sure that the SK 1265-AT6 will find its market share in Scotland. With three Spierings cranes we are able to serve our customers with radii from 44 to 60 metres and a maximum tip load, with the 7-axle, of 5,000 kg at 42 metres.”
