Berry Crane adds Grove
02 April 2014
Crane rental company Berry Cranes, based in Northamptonshire, UK, has taken delivery of a Grove GMK4100L all terrain crane.
The 4-axle all terrain has a capacity of 100 tonnes and a 60 metre boom. When configured with a jib the crane has a maximum reach of 77 m.
Neil Berry, company owner, said, “We are seeing positive signs of market recovery as demand for our equipment increases. The GMK4100L is just exactly the crane we need to meet these growing demands, which mostly involve construction and telecom projects. For telecom work in particular, we need a compact crane with excellent reach and the GMK4100L is perfect for this.”
Tasks for the new crane will include installing new antennae for the telecom industry in the UK.
Steve Barnett, Manitowoc commercial director for the region, said, “During the economic crisis, many larger fleet owners sent their cranes abroad. This has allowed smaller crane rental companies to win larger projects that might normally be contested by larger companies. It’s an exciting time and it means our operations are busy.”
The GMK4100L joins a fleet of nine cranes. It is the largest crane in Berry’s fleet.
