Boels in 400-unit Atlas Copco order

04 April 2016

Dutch rental company Boels has expanded its fleet with an investment in 400 plate compactors and rammers from Atlas Copco.

Atlas Copco said the order, for units in sizes between 80kg and 500kg, was its biggest ever for light compaction equipment. It said the machines would be painted in Boels’ colours and logo, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter.

Atlas Copco added that the forward and reversible plate compactors supplied to Boels Rental would include a number of new LG 504 models equipped with compaction indicators. The compaction indicator consists of a system of lights which show when sufficient compaction has been achieved, reducing the risk of over-compaction.

The order also included a number of LT 6005 rammers.

Atlas Copco Construction Tools vice president of marketing for light construction equipment Rune Magnusson said, “We are very pleased that Boels Rental, one of the leading European equipment rental companies, has chosen Atlas Copco as a partner for light compaction equipment.

“Our heritage of developing light compaction equipment goes back to 1947 when we launched the first vibratory plate. For nearly 70 years we have been able to provide our customers with very robust and reliable vibratory plates and rammers.

“Now Boels Rental and its customers will be able to benefit from this heritage paired with our latest innovations, together with Atlas Copco’s support in terms of an outstanding international service organisation.”
