Global maritime services company, Boskalis International, has announced it will use a Barge Master motion compensated platform to help install a permanent bridge during phase 3 of the Malampaya project.

Boskalis is the main contractor on the Malampaya project for Shell Philippines Exploration. For the project an offshore depletion compression platform (DCP) is being installed at the Malampaya gas field, in the Republic of the Philippines.

The bridge will connect the DCP with an existing shallow water gas production platform (SWP), a company spokesperson said.

To carry out the installation, the bridge will be loaded onto the Barge Master platform and sailed out to the project location on a purpose built DP2 vessel, Ndeavor. The bridge will then be lifted off the vessel into place.
